Weddings, Celebrations and Divorces
Dusty is an experienced celebrant for weddings and life-celebrations and is now offering a unique service: the Decoupling. (To be clear, they have no legal powers to bind two souls together, send a soul to the next life, or separate those who have chosen different paths. But it’s good to have a formal moment for these, the punctuation marks of Life’s great sentence.)
WEDDINGS
Dusty brings a certain flair and insouciance to weddings, with cheeky humour and ironic solemnity. They will work with the happy couple to come up with the perfect celebration that is inclusive, amusing, and moving. If you have the kind of wedding where the ring-bearer is a dog (true) or an owl (also true), Dusty can create a ceremony that will make the occasion even. more memorable. Don’t believe me, believe a couple of very happy brides:
Viki:
‘Dusty not only brought their stage presence and repertoire as celebrant to the wedding. Their firm hand on the tiller ensured that the whole wedding was an incredible day for both us and our guests. Their witty ripostes and songs kept everyone entertained throughout the day and evening. Can’t recommend Dusty enough; made our day magical whilst maintaining the decorum and ceremony of the event.’
Maud:
‘Dusty totally understood what we were trying to do with our wedding and created the atmosphere we wanted perfectly. They kept our guests entertained and in a celebratory mood throughout, as well as impressing everyone with their fantastic vocals. It was a truly magical evening, thanks in no small part to Dusty's wizardry. I wouldn't hesitate to book them again for my next wedding.’
LIFE-CELEBRATIONS
When someone we love passes from this world, the grief is terrible. But we must remember - funerals are for the living, not for the dead. And a celebration of their life can help ease the pain. Dusty can provide a bespoke life-celebration in consultation with their loved ones, to share their lives and treasure their memories.
DE-COUPLINGS
Sometimes people’s lives diverge and though the love is not lost, it travels different paths. A De-coupling Ceremony is a way for two people to part ways with awareness, and kindness, and to mark the moment, to achieve closure, and to move on. This unique service is entirely bespoke - and exclusively available to those who want to mark that separation without animosity and with mutual respect. To draw the line, and walk over it, with a glance over the shoulder and a sincere ‘goodbye’. There is no existing formal ritual for this, so it will involve extensive consultation with the couple and the devising of a unique ceremony to honour them both. (Yes, I’m aware it’s a railway term, but I like the imagery.)
